NEWARK (1010 WINS) – Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will head to his native New Jersey on Tuesday for a visit focusing on COVID-19 vaccinations and environmental activism.
Emhoff will travel to Newark and Elizabeth for events with New Jersey’s first lady, Tammy Murphy, and Congressman Donald Payne Jr.

The second gentleman’s first stop is a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at a local high school in Newark at 11:45 a.m., according to his office.
After that, he’ll meet with a team of young people employed to lead environmental improvement projects in Elizabeth. The 1:30 p.m. event will be attended by Brenda Mallory, chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
Emhoff’s office said he’ll “underscore how the [Biden] administration’s Build Back Better Agenda will create a pathway to more good-paying jobs by putting a new generation of people to work restoring our public lands and waters.”
Vice President Kamala Harris will not be with him on the trip.
Emhoff, 57, has said New Jersey is “very much in my veins.” He grew up in Matawan and Old Bridge, where he attended Cedar Ridge High School.
