NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Four men were charged for running a ghost gun trafficking ring in New Jersey, according to the DOJ.
Savion Clyburn, 20, Corey Jenkins Jr., 30, Richard Mullane, 26, and Julian Santiago, 26, were all charged with weapons manufacturing and trafficking offenses for the ring, which mostly operated in Passaic and Hudson counties.
In December, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives partnered with local and state law enforcement for a series of controlled gun purchases from the defendants, according to prosecutors.
The undercover agents bought 12 guns, 11 of which were ghost guns — firearms assembled by amateurs with no serial number that are untraceable.
The guns were customized with colorful designs and threaded for silencers.
The alleged conspirators appeared in a Newark federal court on Tuesday.
Clyburn, Jenkins and Mullane each face up to five years in prison if convicted. Santiago faces 15 years because he is also accused of selling a gun to a felon in addition to the weapons offenses the other men received.
