Police responded to reports of a wrong-way driver on I-91 early Saturday morning just before 2:30 a.m.

Soon after the report, the driver caused a crash near Exit 18 by East Meriden that killed two people.

I-91 shut down for about an hour due to the crash.

Just minutes after the I-91 incident, at about 2:45 a.m., another wrong-way driver on Interstate 84 caused a crash in Hartford that killed four.

The car was driving the wrong direction on I-84 East in the tunnel by Exit 51 in Downtown Hartford when it crashed.

Similarly to I-91, I-84 remained shut for about an hour after the crash.
