
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- An employee at a department store in the American Dream mall was pepper-sprayed by two would-be robbers that were prevented from stealing merchandise Monday evening, officials said.
According to state police, at approximately 6:10 p.m., two suspects inside to leave Saks Fifth Avenue attempted to leave with merchandise when they were confronted by a worker.

The employee was then pepper-sprayed and the suspects fled the store authorities said.
The items were recovered by the employee recovered, according to Sgt. Philip Curry.
So far no arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
