Trio sought after armed thieves crash into car before Queens carjacking, robbery: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a trio after two armed robbers crashed into a man's car before robbing him and another man in Queens last weekend, authorities confirm.

A 34-year-old male was sitting inside of his parked Audi when it was struck by a dark-colored Dodge Durango at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, in front of 80-42 47 Avenue in Elmhurst, officials said Thursday.

When the victim exited the vehicle to assess the damage, two men exited the Durango armed with a handgun and demanded property from him and from a 35-year-old man who was assisting the first victim, according to authorities.

The suspects took the second victim's Samsung cellular phone and wallet containing credit cards, debit cards and $500 cash.

Police said one of the suspects then fired a single gunshot at the first victim as he attempted to flee the location.

The suspects fled on 47 Avenue toward Broadway in the Durango and also took the victims Audi, the NYPD said.

Authorities also observed an unknown woman using a credit card belonging to the victim inside of Sousa Grocery Store located at 1990 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn approximately 90 minutes after the incident.

There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

The first suspect is described by police as a man, approximately 28 – 35 years of age, 6’ tall, 175 - 185 lbs and was last seen wearing a gray jacket.

NYPD officials released surveillance footage of the woman wanted for questioning.
