Bicyclist fatally struck by New Jersey State Police car

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A bicyclist was fatally struck by a New Jersey State Police SUV earlier this week, authorities announced Tuesday.

Just after 6 a.m. on Monday, the biclyst was hit by the trooper, who was driving an unmarked police SUV on Willow Grove Street near Brook Hollow Drive in Hackettstown, officials said.

The cyclist, who has not been identified by police, was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

No other information regarding the crash was released and an investigation remains ongoing.
