SEA BRIGHT, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A passerby spotted a body floating in the waters off of a Jersey Shore beach over the weekend, police said Tuesday.
New Jersey state troopers recovered the body from the waters off of Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright around 11:35 a.m. on Sunday, NJ.com reported, citing information from New Jersey State Police.
State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said the body was about "a quarter-mile off the shoreline of Sea Bright," according to the outlet.
It wasn't immediately clear how the person died, and their name and age were not immediately released. An investigation is ongoing.
