MONROE, Conn. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was shot in his hand and foot inside a Connecticut residence Tuesday night, authorities said.

It happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. at a home located on Wheeler Road in Monroe.

According to police, the boy's mother discovered the boy had been shot and tried to rush him to an area hospital before calling 911.
