BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (1010 WINS) — A 6-year-old boy died days after he was brutally beaten with a baseball bat in an attack on his family in Connecticut, authorities said.
According to police, on on Sept. 25, Abdulrahim Sulaiman, 38, attacked the 6-year-old, his 4-year-old sibling and his 33-year-old mother in a home on Main Street in Bridgeport.
Sulaiman was arrested shortly after the attack. He was charged with criminal attempted murder, assault, risk of injury to a minor, and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Charges against him will now be upgraded to include murder with special circumstances, police said.
The 6-year-old was pronounced braindead after the attack. The mother and 4-year-old have since been released from the hospital.
