NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Brian Laundrie's family is asking "Celebrity Jeopardy!" for an apology after the quiz show used his suicide and the killing of his fiancée Gabby Petito as a clue during Monday night's episode.
Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino told TMZ that the "entire Laundrie family is appalled and concurs with all of the comments on social media on how distasteful this was," adding that he believes "an apology is due."
The clue, which aired from the "The A List" category, said, "In 2021 Fugitive Brian Laundrie Ended His Days In Fla.'s Myakkahatchee Creek Area, Home to These Long & Toothy Critters." The answer was, "What are alligators?"
Several people on social media blasted the show for the clue choice.
Laundrie admitted to killing Petito after she went missing last year in a notebook found alongside his body in the Florida nature preserve, where he later committed suicide.
