According to the company’s official press release, the pop star couple will collaborate with the popular sleep and meditation app on their “Breathe Into It” sessions, which will include 13 sessions from Cabello and 11 sessions from Mendes — with all sessions focusing on fostering gratitude, overcoming fear, and easing anxiety.
Additionally, both Mendes and Cabello will be granting thousands of free Calm subscriptions to organizers of the Movement Voter Fund as well as Shawn Mendes Foundation youth leaders.
Using their own personal experiences, they’ll take listeners into a soothing state of meditation. “Everyone's journey with mental health is different but no matter your struggle, know that you are not alone," Cabello shared in a statement. "Meditation and mindfulness have been so helpful as I navigate life and prioritize healing.”
“By sharing my own journey, my hope is that we can continue to de-stigmatize conversations about mental health and asking for support,” she continued. “Expanding access to these types of resources is so important, especially for communities who often aren't given the time or space to focus on their mental wellness.”
In Cabello’s clip, she talks about her experience with setting boundaries, looking away from social media and protecting her peace.
In Mendes' clip he discusses overcoming fear, his life philosophies, and also shows fans his pre-show rituals. In his official statement, his sentiments are unsurprisingly similar to those of Camila. “Calm is an integral part of my mindfulness routine, Shawn noted. “Meditation has really changed my life and has made me both a better performer and has helped me immensely off the stage as well.” Adding, “My goal is for anyone to feel empowered to embrace these tools,"
In the same way, Audacy’s I’m Listening initiative aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone. If you or anyone you know is struggling with depression or anxiety, know that someone is always there. Additionally, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-273-8255.
