Child airlifted to hospital after Long Island dog attack

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A child had to be airlifted to Cohen Children’s Hospital on Tuesday afternoon after being attacked by two dogs, the Nassau County Police said.

Officers responded to a location on Lantern Road in Hicksville at about 12:20 p.m. and spotted two “involved” dogs, two women and a juvenile girl.

The girl was airlifted for treatment of facial injuries, and the two women were taken to a local area hospital to treat leg injuries.

The dogs were secured and animal control was responding to assist with them, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing.
