NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday the indictment of a Long Island man who was busted with over a kilogram of cocaine, large amounts of fentanyl and mass cash in his residence.

Nathaniel Howell, 40, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and related charges for allegedly intending to sell the cocaine and fentanyl from his home at 71 Wilson Avenue in Medford, officials said.

If convicted of the top count, Howell faces 15 to 30 years in prison.

“Our investigators recovered a significant amount of lethal narcotics that the defendant allegedly planned to sell from his residence,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney. “My office will continue to stop any deadly venture that profits off of overdoses, fuels addiction and breaks families.”

An investigation by the District Attorney’s Fentanyl Task Force learned that Howell was allegedly selling cocaine and fentanyl from his home, and executed a search warrant of the space on Nov. 2.

Police recovered over a kilogram of cocaine, fentanyl and over $305,000 in cash.

Howell was arraigned Wednesday and bail was set at $1 million cash, $2 million bond or $8 million partially secured bond, the district attorney’s office said.

The defendant will return to court Jan. 4.
