Connecticut reports 20 new COVID-19 deaths, more than 1,100 hospitalizations

HARTFORD, CT (1010 WINS) -- Connecticut reported 20 new COVID-19-related deaths and more than 1,100 hospitalizations on Tuesday, Gov. Ned Lamont said.

As of Monday night, 1,152 people in the state were hospitalized with COVID-19 complications, up by 54 from Sunday, Lamont tweeted.

The 20 new COVID-19-related fatalities pushed the state’s death toll to 5,040, he said.

Of the 24,831 COVID-19 test results that came back in the state on Monday, 1,459, or 5.88 percent, were positive, he added.

Hospitalizations in Connecticut have more than tripled since Nov. 1, when 340 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, data from the state’s health department shows.
