NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Connecticut man was sentenced to two years in prison Wednesday for trafficking stolen guns from Florida to Connecticut, U.S. Attorney Vanessa Roberts Avery announced.

The 24-year-old New Britain man, Julian Judge, drove with an accomplice from Connecticut to Florida in February 2021 to retrieve three illegal guns and bring them back, court documents show.
Authorities traced the stolen guns back to Judge after police recovered a .40 caliber handgun and a high capacity magazine discarded by Judge’s associate during a foot chase in March 2021.
Investigators later searched the home of the associate, which he shared with Judge, recovering three additional loaded firearms, two extended magazines, more than 100 rounds of ammunition and about 60 grams of cocaine.
The serial number of one of the firearms found in the apartment matched the serial number of a gun that had been stolen in Florida in February 2021.
During the investigation, authorities captured Judge and his associates in recorded conversations discussing the illegal purchase and sale of firearms. Judge also posted photos of himself on social media with the guns.
On May 27, 2021, Judge was arrested and later let out on bail. In September, Judge’s bond was revoked after he was arrested on domestic violence charges. He pleaded guilty in November to one count of transporting stolen firearms across state lines.
Along with the 24-month prison sentence, Judge will have three years of supervised release and have to pay a $3,000 fine.
