PARAMUS, N.J. (1010 WINS) — An 83-year-old driver crashed his SVU through a busy New Jersey nail salon Tuesday afternoon, fortunately, there were no serious injuries, police said.
The crash happened about 1:45 p.m. at Bliss Nails in the Highland Shopping Center on East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus.
"Upon arrival, officers observed that a 2007 Lexus RX wagon had driven through the front window and wall of the establishment and was completely located in the structure," Paramus Police Chief Kenneth R. Ehrenberg said in an email to NJ.com.
The police chief said that despite several customers and workers being in the salon, only one woman reported a minor injury to her hand and was treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene.
The crash is under investigation, and Ehrenberg said the borough's building department was inspecting the store for structural damage.
The driver was not charged. Ehrenberg noted that motor-vehicle summonses are pending the outcome of the investigation.
