SOUTH TOMS RIVER, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey driver was killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Friday evening, police said.
New Jersey State Police said Christina M. Citarella, 40, was heading north in the left lane around 6:30 p.m. when her car ran off the road near milepost 80.7, before hitting two sign supports then splitting in half.
Police said the front part of the car then re-entered the parkway, went across all three lanes, and collided with a Jeep Renegade in the far right lane. Citarella was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigated.
It wasn't immediately clear if weather conditions played a factor.
