WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — An ex-Westchester County legislative aide was charged Monday with attempting to entice an underage girl for sex after a sting video detailing the shocking allegations surfaced.

Anand Singh, 33, who worked for the Westchester Board of Legislators, chatted with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl and made plans to engage in sexual activity with her, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced.

In December 2022, Singh used the screen name "Anon" on the dating app Hily to connect with the individual, who was posing as the teen. Prosecutors said that during those conversations, Singh repeatedly expressed his desire to engage in sexual activity with the individual and made a plan to meet her for a rendezvous.

"Young girls rock my world," he wrote, according to a federal complaint reviewed by the Daily News.

In the early hours of Dec. 17, 2022, Singh went to the location where he and the individual posing as a 14-year-old girl planned to meet.

"Daddy's ready to pop," he wrote ahead of their arranged meeting, according to court documents.

The individual turned out to be an undercover adult member of the vigilante group OBL Global, FBI agent Erica Buoncore wrote in an affidavit.

According to the complaint, when Singh arrived, a member of the group confronted and recorded him, leading him to flee to his car and drive away.

The New York Post reported the 33-year-old was fired from his job on April 13, when the sting video came out.

Singh is charged with one count of attempting to entice a minor.

He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of at least 10 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison, prosecutors said.

The SDNY said an investigation is ongoing and there may be other victims of this alleged conduct. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
