NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Fire officials are on the scene of a massive fire at a mattress warehouse in North Brunswick, New Jersey, as of Wednesday evening.
Video from Citizen app shows heavy plumes of smoke billowing from the building as North Brunswick police and firefighters from the area and neighboring counties respond.
Flames are visible shooting out of Dream Well Inc., a mattress warehouse located at 633 Nassau Street.
At 4:45 p.m., the North Brunswick Police Department alerted the public of the fire, and asked that “motorists and pedestrians avoid the area of Georges Road and Nassau Street due to a warehouse fire on Nassau Street.”
According to ABC7, the blaze is a seven-alarm fire, and emergency personnel responded just before 4 p.m. Officials told ABC7 that the entire rear of the building was covered in flames by the time they arrived, and firefighters are currently getting water on the fire from multiple directions.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
