Florida Republican Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart is the first member of Congress to test positive for coronavirus.
He wrote a message on Twitter saying "I'm feeling much better. However, it's important that everyone take this seriously and follow @CDCgov guidelines in order to avoid getting sick & mitigate the spread of this virus. We must continue to work together to emerge stronger as a country during these trying times."

March 18, 2020 He decided to self quarantine in Washington, D.C., on Friday March 13 and not return to Florida, according to a press release on his Twitter page. His wife had pre-existing conditions that would make her high risk to get the virus. He began showing symptoms on Saturday with a fever and a headache.
The death toll from the virus has surpassed 100 people in the United States.
