NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gabby Petito's father promised to help the families of missing people raise awareness following the disappearance and death of his own daughter Gabby Petito -- and he's keeping his word.
Long Island native Joseph Petito -- who daughter was found dead in the fall in a Wyoming national park after going on a cross-country trip with fiancé Brian Laundrie (he was later found dead in a Florida reserve from self-inflicted gunshot wounds) -- has been posting missing persons cases to his social media accounts in recent weeks, including that of missing Long Island mother-of-four Melissa Molinari, 38.
"#twitter, you are all amazing," Petito tweeted. "Thank you for all you do to help. Please help find #MelissaMolinari. Last seen 11/21/2021 at 45 Lilly Ln Centereach, NY. Please help bring her home safe. #MissingPerson #TogetherWeCan #gabbypetito #everybithelps."
Molinari was last seen by her family leaving their home in Centereach on Nov. 21. She did not take her car, police said.
Suffolk County police officers searched area near the home -- but the home itself --on Wednesday, WNBC reported, adding that a water basin across the street was searched and a canine unit was brought in.
A friend of Molinari reported her missing on Dec. 2.
Police have not said if her disappearance is suspicious, but they said that the family -- including the husband -- is cooperating with officials.
