Scarlett is expected to replace Jadeveon Clowney in the starting lineup opposite Whitney Mercilus.

Clowney, who fired his agent nearly two weeks ago, has yet to sign his franchise tender and the team is considering trade proposals.

Scarlett has played in 30 games and started in eight since the Texans signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He’s logged 54 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.
