NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have officially broken up and ended their engagement.
The former pair confirmed their split in a joint statement provided to TODAY.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects,” they said.
“We wish the best for each other and one another’s children,” they added. “Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
Lopez and Rodriguez got engaged in March 2019 after dating for two years.
Several news outlets last month reported that the two had parted ways, but at the time, the two issued a statement calling the reports "inaccurate."
