NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Popstar Justin Timberlake was slated to perform at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Tuesday night, but canceled the concert just over an hour before it was scheduled to begin, citing an injury.
“I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing,” Timberlake wrote on Instagram. “I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule ASAP.”
The message was shared with the artist’s 72.5 million followers at 5:45 p.m., and was soon after reshared by the Prudential Center, which captioned the post: “Important Update on tonight’s @justintimberlake – The Forget Tomorrow World Tour event.”
Flannked by his band, the Tennessee Kids, the “Mirrors” singer was supposed to begin the show at about 7 p.m.
“I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y’all deserve,” Timberlake’s statement continued. “Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always.”
Timberlake is expected to next perform at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Friday, and it was not immediately known if that show would be held as planned or not.
On Monday, he performed in Brooklyn at Barclays Center, and posted a variety of promotional material with Ellie the Elephant, the official mascot of the WNBA’s New York Liberty.
