NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A landscaper died while working on Long Island Tuesday morning after he cut a power line with a trimmer, causing him to fall from 16 feet, Suffolk County Police said.
Darwin Morales-Martines, 31, was trimming trees in the backyard of 2 Richwood Lane in Hauppauge when his tool caught contact with a power line, electrocuting him, authorities said.
He then fell from a 16-foot ladder.
Morales-Martines, or Central Islip, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
