LI man stabs wife to death in front of home, crashes car into building: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – A man was arrested on Wednesday night after he fatally stabbed his wife on Long Island, according to Suffolk County Police.

Ryszard Murawski, 44, stabbed his wife, Wioleta Murawski, 38, in front of their home on South 14th Street in Lindenhurst, police said.

Cops arrived at the scene after receiving a call about a stabbing at around 8:30 p.m.

Wioleta was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip where she was pronounced dead.

Ryszard, while trying to run away from the scene, crashed his car into a building on New York Avenue and West Hoffman Avenue in Lindenhurst.

He was arrested and taken to a local hospital, police said.

Ryszard is expected to face charges by Homicide Squad detectives after he is released from the hospital.
