LI man arrested for trying to sell meth to nightclub bartender

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A Long Island man was arrested early Saturday morning for attempting to sell methamphetamines to a nightclub bartender, according to the Southampton Town Police Department.

Yeison Gonzalez-Ocampo, 33, is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A staff member at Beach Bar, a Hamptons Bay nightclub located at 58 Foster Ave., contacted authorities at about 1:36 a.m. after Gonzalez-Ocampo allegedly offered drugs to a bartender.

According to the investigation, Gonzalez-Ocampo offered a quantity of methamphetamines to the bartender who did not accept. The suspect was in possession of the drugs when arrested by police.

Gonzalez-Ocampo was processed at Southampton Police headquarters and then released on an appearance ticket with an arraignment date, officials said.
