MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Nassau County Police arrested a Deer Park man on Sunday night during a traffic stop after officers caught him with a large cache of weapons and drugs, authorities said.
Bureau of Special Operations officers were on patrol on Sunset Highway at about 11:51 p.m. on Sunday when they saw a green 1996 Chevrolet, operated by 40-year-old Vincent Fandetta, driving with illegal tints on the front and passenger windows and broken license plate lamps.
The officers began to follow the Chevrolet eastbound and saw Fandetta fail to maintain his lane, police said.
Near Louden and County Line Road police activated their lights and sirens, but Fandetta did not pull over until he reached the southbound ramp to Route 110, where a traffic stop was initiated.

During the investigation officers recovered a black expandable baton; a black switchblade; a defaced, silver Raven Arms P25 .25 handgun; a loaded magazine with six .25 caliber bullets; yellow metal knuckles; and a BB gun.
Multiple yellow Ziplock bags containing a white powdery substance believed to contain cocaine and numerous pills thought to be controlled substances were also recovered, police said.
Fandetta was placed under arrest without further incident.
He is charged with five counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, nine counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and four traffic infractions.
Fandetta was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead and pleaded not guilty, court records show. Bail was set at $35,000 cash, $70,000 insured bond and $300,000 partially secured surety bond.
