EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A Long Island man was arrested and charged on Saturday after an incident on Wednesday during which he is accused of exposing himself to a young girl in front of her East Meadow home.
Jhonatan Fuentes, 29, is charged with first-degree public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.
At 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, a nine-year-old girl was in the front yard of her home on Falcon Street when a white work van, with an orange ladder on top, parked across the street.
The operator of the van, allegedly Fuentes, motioned for the girl to come over to the vehicle. Once she approached, he exposed himself to her.
The girl ran home and told her father what happened, and he contacted the Nassau County Police Department.
Police released information describing the suspect—an adult male with short black hair and a thin mustache—on Thursday. He was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt.
Fuentes, of East Meadow, is to be arraigned in Hempstead on Sunday.
Anyone with information about the incident, or who believes they may have been a victim, is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or to call 911.
