WYANDANCH, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- A Long Island man was shot after a group of adults got into the mix of a fight between their teenage family members Friday, police said.
Suffolk police said a group of teens got into a fight on Jamaica Avenue in Wyandanch between 31st and 32nd streets just after 2 p.m. near Wyandanch High School.
Adult family members of the teens responded to scene, where they ended up becoming involved in the fight, cops said.
During the melee, a 41-year-old Wyandanch man was shot in the cheek by another man, according to Suffolk police.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.
