NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – A Long Island man was arrested on Tuesday for sexual abuse after allegedly engaging in inappropriate contact with a teen girl, according to Nassau County Police.
Jose Amaya, 56, from Hempstead, who worked as a self-employed driver, allegedly had "inappropriate contact" multiple times with a 14-year-old girl while driving her to and from school, according to police.
On Tuesday, Amaya and the victim's parents allegedly got into an argument after finding out about the inappropriate contact with their daughter.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested Amaya without incident after an investigation.
He is now being charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
He will be arraigned on Jan. 3.
