NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Nassau County Police rescued a cat that got its head stuck in a metal chain link fence on Long Island, officials said.
Officers received an emergency call around 2 p.m. at Floral Park Road in Franklin Square where a passerby reported a cat that was stuck, police said.

They arrived at the scene and borrowed bolt cutters from a staff member at Carey High School, located nearby.
Officers "were able to gently cut the fence around the cat and set the scared feline free without being injured," police said in a release.
