HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A teenager was killed and a woman was badly injured when a stolen pickup truck fleeing police collided with another vehicle in Suffolk County late Tuesday night.
The incident began around 11:30 p.m. when police attempted to pull over a Toyota Tacoma with a stolen license plate on Long Island Avenue, near Gazebo Lane, in Holtsville.

The driver, 50-year-old Robert Hengeveld, of Blue Point, fled police heading southbound on North Ocean Avenue.
Authorities pursued the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop at 11:41 p.m. after Hengeveld struck a Honda Civic at the intersection of Express Drive South and North Ocean Avenue.
A female passenger traveling in the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle in the collision. She was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.
Hengeveld was also transported to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
