NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — At least one civilian sustained injuries after a fire broke out inside the basement of the News Corp. building in Midtown Manhattan on Sunday night, nearly two weeks after authorities said a Christmas tree outside the skyscraper was intentionally set ablaze.

The FDNY received a call about the trash compactor fire around 9:30 p.m. at 1211 Avenue of the Americas, which houses Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post.
About 26 units and 84 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene.
The blaze was brought under control about an hour later.
One civilian was injured, but refused medical attention at the scene, according to the FDNY.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
This was the second time this month that the FDNY responded to a fire call at the building.
On Dec. 8, police said a homeless man climbed a 50-foot-tall Christmas tree outside the building and set fire to it using newspapers and a lighter.
The suspect was arrested on the scene and charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, arson, criminal nuisance, endangering others, criminal trespass, criminal tampering, and disorderly conduct.
A new tree was put up the next day and a lighting ceremony was held that evening.
