NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One man was killed and three more were wounded in a shooting at a reported gambling den in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, police said.

Officers arrived at a building on Hegeman Avenue, near Osborn Street, in Brownsville around 10:45 p.m. to find four men with gunshot wounds.


Police said one man, reportedly in his 30s, was shot in the chest.

A 44-year-old man was also shot in the arm, a 32-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and a 31-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said.

The man who was shot in the chest was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other three men were taken to area hospitals in stable condition, police said.

Sources told the Daily News that a gunman opened fire in a backroom, which they described as a gambling den.

The sources said police are investigating whether the shooter, who remains at large, was a robber or a gambler.
