1 killed, 6 injured in 4-alarm fire at Bronx home: officials

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One person was killed and six others, including two firefighters, suffered minor injuries in a four-alarm house fire in the Bronx Tuesday morning.

The flames broke out around 9 a.m. at a home on Valentine Avenue near East 180th Street in Fordham Heights, officials said.

The fire spread to two other homes and a video posted to Citizen App showed billowing smoke emerging from the home.

Firefighters were able to place the blaze under control after 10:30 a.m.

Two firefighters were among six people who suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the FDNY said.
