1 man dead, another injured during drive-by shooting in front of SI apartment building

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Friday night shooting in front of a Staten Island apartment complex left one man dead and another injured, authorities said.

Cops were responding to a 911 call about shots fired around 10:22 p.m. in front of 55 Bowen Street where they found the two victims.

A 28-year-old man had a gunshot wound to his right leg. He was transferred to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

The other victim, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North with a gunshot wound to his left armpit where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

According to the Daily News, the shooting was the result of a drive-by with the suspect speeding off in a four-door sedan. The shooting is believed to be gang related, authorities said.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
