NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — One person was hurt when a Coach USA bus crashed into a building in Midtown on Thursday.
It happened at around 4:35 p.m. at 115 E. 41st St. near Grand Central Terminal. According to the Department of Buildings, the bus first jumped the curb, struck the side of 101 Park Ave. before continuing on and lodging itself deep into the scaffolding in front of 370 Lexington Ave.
The bus driver was the only person injured in the crash and was transported to a local hospital. Their current condition remains unclear.
"It's something that I've never seen in my life. It's unreal, it's half the bus in a building," one pedestrian told 1010 WINS.
The DOB confirmed that there was no structural damage to the building itself. The damaged sidewalk shed is scheduled to be repaired.
"We are currently investigating what occurred as to the incident near Grand Central. No pedestrians or any others were injured," the vice president of public affairs for Coach USA/Megabus/Coach Canada said in a statement.
