NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 1-year-old baby girl was thrown down the garbage chute at a Staten Island residential building on Monday afternoon, and a suspect is in custody, police said.
A 39-year-old man threw the child down the chute at 195 Stueban St. in Park Hill at about 3:15 p.m., police said.
The child was taken to Richmond University Medical Center and is expected to be OK, officials said.
Sources told 1010 WINS that the man taken into custody is the girl's uncle.
An investigation is ongoing.
