NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A dangerous carbon monoxide leak at a Queens residence sent several people to the hospital on Friday afternoon, according to fire officials.
The FDNY responded to a 911 call regarding a carbon monoxide alarm activation at 112-09 Rockaway Blvd. in South Ozone Park just before 1 p.m.
Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered elevated levels of the colorless, odorless gas inside the building.
EMS transported four people to the hospital with serious injuries. Six others were treated for minor injuries.
Firefighters remained on the scene throughout the afternoon to ventilate the property and identify the source of the leak.
The cause of the leak remains under investigation by the FDNY.
