NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday after he carried a loaded ghost gun into his Downtown Brooklyn school, police said.

According to authorities, the incident happened just before noon when a staff member at The Urban Assembly School of Law and Justice on Adams Street identified the gun inside the student's backpack.
Cops said the student had $30,000 in cash on him at the time of his arrest.
He was taken into custody and has not been charged at this time, police said.
PIX 11 reports the student was held in an administrative office when cops arrived.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced in October that he would increase the number of random metal detectors and implement additional precautionary measures at schools a week after multiple guns were seized.
