NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- At least 19 people were taken to hospitals Tuesday after an FDNY fire truck and an MTA bus collided in the Bronx, officials said.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. at Barretto Street and Southern Boulevard in the Longwood section.
EMS transported five firefighters and 14 civilians to area hospitals, according to the FDNY. Their conditions weren't immediately known.
Three civilians were also evaluated at the scene and refused transport.
Witnesses described the fire truck as hitting the bus, with one woman saying, "they just went head-on and hit the bus."
