NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two Brooklyn men were arrested for killing the brother of one of the suspects and hiding his body, the NYPD announced Friday.
Authorities believe Martin Wright, 44, was killed with blunt force trauma to his head on Jan. 28 and his body was moved to another location, but police weren’t aware of the murder until a 27-year-old woman reported it to the 81st Precinct on Feb. 7.
After the woman came forward, police started investigating the death as a homicide.
Police arrested McMillian Wright, Martin’s 45-year-old brother, and Craig Smith, 48, in connection with the killing.
Wright was charged with murder, weapon possession, falsifying business records, concealment of a human corpse, evidence tampering and possession of a forged instrument. Smith only faces evidence tampering charges.
Officials have not yet made clear what the motive might have been for the killing.
