NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two boys were critically injured in separate crashes, including a hit-and-run, in Queens on Friday night, police said.
The crashes, which happened just minutes apart, left both boys fighting for their lives. One child was walking and the other was on a bicycle.

The first crash happened around 8 p.m. in Forest Hills, where a 10-year-old boy was struck in a crosswalk as he crossed Jewel Avenue at 110th Street, according to police.
The boy suffered head trauma and was taken to a Queens hospital and later to Weill Cornell. He was said to be in extremely critical condition.
The 21-year-old driver stayed at the scene. Police said there appears to be no criminality.

The second crash happened just minutes later in College Point. A 16-year-old boy was riding a bike on College Point Boulevard at 15th Avenue when he was hit by a blue Nissan that fled the scene, police said.
The teen was taken to a hospital with severe head trauma. His condition was also described as extremely critical.
The driver drove around the block before ditching the Nissan in front of a nearby post office and running away, police said. Citizen App video shows police investigating outside of the post office.
