NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two people are dead and others are injured after a car sped through an intersection in the Bronx on Friday afternoon, sources confirmed to 1010 WINS.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a collision at the intersection of Allerton Avenue and Holland Avenue at about 2:14 p.m., police said.


Upon arrival, officials found three people unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the body and head. EMS responded and transported all three pedestrians to NYC Health and Hospital/Jacobi, authorities said.

According to sources, two of the victims have died.

A video of the crash obtained by 1010 WINS shows a white Mercedes Benz take off from the curb on westbound Allerton Avenue and zip through the Holland Avenue intersection, hitting pedestrians and other vehicles.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as an 81-year-old man and said he “was unable to stop when approaching upcoming stopped traffic.” He rear ended two vehicles and then two additional vehicles, cops said.

All six occupants of the scene remained on the scene and were also transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
