NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two people were injured in Tribeca early Friday morning after a two-car crash sent a taxi careening into scaffolding, police said.

The taxi and a BMW SUV collided at Chambers Street and West Broadway just after 3:30 a.m. The taxi then slammed into the scaffolding.

The 70-year-old taxi driver and his 75-year-old passenger were both injured and taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

The BMW driver was not hurt.

The BMW had heavy front-end damage, while the taxi had damage to its driver side, video shows.

The Department of Buildings responded to the scene because the scaffolding was not secure and the building may have been damaged.

The stairwell to the Chambers Street station was also closed off, though 1/2/3 trains were still running there.
