NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for two men who impersonated NYPD officials and tied up a family during a Bronx robbery early Tuesday, according to reports.
The suspects are described as white males in their 50s and wore NYPD-branded sweats, with one of them posing as an NYPD officer with an apparently fake badge.
The incident took place on Country Club Road near Eastchester Bay in the Country Club Road neighborhood, NBC New York reports.
They allegedly tied up the owners and robbed the family of $30,000 in cash and $100,000 in jewelry, according to police.
They also took a phone and a white 2018 BMW, which was later recovered about a mile away at Bruckner Boulevard and Baisley Avenue near the Bruckner Expressway.
The female owner managed to escape the house and go across the street to her neighbor and alert police, ABC-TV reports.
No arrests were immediately made.
