NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating after two men were shot at a suspected illegal gambling den in Queens Thursday night.

The shooting happened at about 9:20 p.m. at a building located at 41-19 Haight St. in Flushing.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, officials said.

A 42-year-old man was also shot in the right cheek at the location, police said. He was transported to a hospital by private means and is in stable condition, authorities said.

The shooting is believed to have happened during a robbery of the alleged illegal gambling room, according to police sources.

Police are searching for at least three men who fled the location in a white SUV.
