NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two men are in critical condition after a shooting incident in Brooklyn on Sunday morning, and one NYPD officer was injured in a car crash racing to the scene, police said.

Police responded to a 5:57 a.m. call reporting a person shot near the intersection of Linwood Street and Fulton Street in Cypress Hills.

According to video of the incident obtained by the New York Post, the gunman approached a white Mercedes C300, opened the rear driver’s side door and grabbed the passenger by his neck.

The assailant maintained hold of his gun in his pocket.

The driver then jumped out of the car, at which point the assailant briefly grabbed him by the neck and aimed his weapon.

The gunman began waving the weapon between the two men, and the group exchanged words, before the 28-year-old passenger went after the gun.

Police confirmed that the attacker then shot the 28-year-old multiple times in the middle of the street.

The video then shows the 33-year-old running away with his hands in the air. Ignoring the sign of surrender, the gunman fired off two rounds at the second victim.

Upon arrival at the scene, cops found the 28-year-old shot multiple times throughout his body and the 33-year-old man shot twice, once in the torso and once in the right arm, police said.

Both men were transported to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

The 28-year-old man is in critical condition, police said. The 33-year-old victim is also in critical condition, but stable.

There have been no arrests in the shooting, and police are investigating.

Minutes after the shooting, an officer was driving his cruiser toward the scene and was mere blocks away when a 31-year-old woman driving a 2013 Honda smashed into his patrol car, police said.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Elton Street and Pitkin Avenue, and propelled the patrol car into two empty, parked cars.

Medical personnel treated the woman and her 29-year-old passenger at the scene, and police brought the injured officer to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, officials said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
