NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two 14-year-old boys riding an e-scooter were taken into police custody Thursday evening following a collision with a marked NYPD vehicle in Queens.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of 101st Street and Northern Boulevard in North Corona.

Police officers were traveling eastbound on Northern Boulevard in a marked cruiser when it collided with the motorized scooter, which was traveling westbound and reportedly linked to an earlier incident, officials said.

Both teenagers on the scooter were transported to Elmhurst Hospital and remain in police custody. Two NYPD officers were also taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.

An investigation remains ongoing.
